Obedient Plant

Physostegia virginiana is a robust Wisconsin Native perennial forb with bold lance shaped leaves. Graceful light lavender, pink or white flower spikes appear in late summer to early fall. The individual flowers are tubular and are reminiscent of snapdragons. They thrive in a prairie setting or in sunny gardens with average, well-drained soil.

Obedient Plant is native throughout the Central and Eastern US, and is indigenous to moist prairies, woodland edges, and moist meadows.

A Native, Naturally! Forb, it prefers full sun to part sun in rich, moist soil.
