Aster lateriflorus Lady in Black is a nativar, selected from Aster lateriflorus, the Calico Aster, native to Wisconsin, Illinois and much of the eastern U.S. It offers an abundance of rose-red centered white daisies in late summer and attractive purplish-black foliage. A nectar rich plant that attracts butterflies and bees. A drought tolerant plant it deserves more use in the pollinator garden or naturally inspired areas of the landscape.
Gardening is a way of showing that you believe in tomorrow.
