Panicum virgatum ‘Cloud Nine’ returns after many years’ absence, and we are glad it did! Discontinued because of low sales (say WHAT?!) this past season we’ve had many requests for this classic. Providing shelter and food for songbirds, Cloud Nine is sometimes called Tall Switchgrass. It is one of the tallest Panicum’s sometimes reaching 7’ to 8’ in flower. Those large billowing flower panicles hover like airy clouds over the foliage. Maybe big plants are making a comeback. We hope so!
