Calamagrostis canadensis is a Wisconsin Native grass and a wonderful grass for moist ground stabilization. This grass has a blue cast to it starting in early summer and lasting into fall. It is not as tall as other Calamagrostis but to some, it is more attractive. A robust grower when planted in ideal conditions, in the wild it can form thick mats that exclude other plants.
A Native, Naturally! Grass, it prefers full sun to part sun in average, moist to wet soil.
