Delphinium x elatum Guinevere is a popular garden perennial from Pacific Giant Hybrids series. Delphinium Guinevere seeds can be sown directly outdoors, but for the early establishment the seeds are started indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost. Delphinium Guinevere features foliage with deeply-cut, dark-green leaves and blooms with spikes of extra large, lavender-pink delphinium flowers. Hummingbirds love to visit blooming delphiniums.
Delphinium Guinevere is often grown as a background or border plant in cottage and informal gardens, but also Delphinium can be used for mass planting in wildflower gardens and naturalized landscapes. Because of its extra large flowers and tall flower stems, these Delphiniums require staking to avoid being knocked over by the wind. Delphinium Guinevere makes one of the best cut flowers.
A Northern Sunset Perennial. It prefers rich, well-drained soil in full sun.
