Aquilegia x Crimson Star has pure red flowers (that are not all that common); often there is a purple cast or an orangey tone. ‘Crimson Star’ has huge true red flowers surrounded by a pristine white corolla. Crimson Star has a neat, compact habit and produces a cloud of flowers in late spring. Hummingbirds love aquilegia and these red ones are a special favorite.
