A Part Sun Grass

Carex appalachica is a fine textured grass native to the Appalachian Mountains northward through New England. The foliage and overall dimensions of the plant resemble Carex pensylvanica, although C. appalachica is clump-forming rather than spreading. C. appalachiaca flourishes on well-drained slopes and is particularly eye-catching when planted with other woodland plants.
