Andropogon gerardii Holy Smoke (PP33929) A lovely, burgundy to maroon tall grass, Holy Smoke brings excellent color and texture to various types of gardens and landscapes. It continues to become more vibrantly red to purple in color as the season progresses. Folks are attracted to this nativar for how it looks, and birds are attracted to it when it goes to seed. A great choice for erosion control, borders, screening, mass planting, urban growing, prairies and meadows. It has an upright growth habit that reaches up to 5′ tall and about 2′ wide. Grows best in full sun. Cut back in spring to help promote a new burst of growth.
